Pairing: Stephen / Becker
Notes: For primeval100: challenge 238: Stephen Hart.
The anomaly shimmered seconds before a man stepped through. He was injured, his clothes torn and bloodied, but his reactions were sharp. He and Becker were in a standoff, guns drawn and levelled at each other.
“Put the weapon down!” Becker demanded.
The man eyed him suspiciously. “You first.”
“Drop it or I’ll fire,” Becker threatened.
The stranger just smiled at him, his grip on the gun unwavering.
Connor rounded the corner and saw them, guns drawn, hardly daring to believe his eyes.
“Don’t shoot!” He turned to the stranger, his expression shocked yet hopeful. “Stephen? Is it really you?”
Four hours later, Stephen had been checked by the medics and fully debriefed. Had it really been three years? To him it was mere minutes; one moment he was racing through the anomaly that appeared in the creature room and the next he was staring down the barrel of Becker’s gun.
Speaking of Becker, he’d been watching Stephen since they returned.
“If you’re going to keep me under guard, you might as well do it over dinner,” he said before adding, “Or we could skip dinner and go straight to bed.”
After a moment, Becker smiled. “Sounds good to me.”
Becker flopped onto his back onto his bed, an equally knackered Stephen draped over his chest, and hoped he wouldn’t have to do much running about tomorrow. Or sitting. Or moving of any kind. Maybe he could just stay in bed.
“Pretty good for a dead man, eh?” Stephen asked, a smirk on his face.
Becker smiled. “Not bad at all. We’ll get your paperwork fixed tomorrow, make you legal again-”
Stephen silenced him with a kiss. “Later. Right now I can think of more interesting things to talk about.”
“Oh? You know, they say actions speak louder than words…”
