Pairing: Becker / Matt
Notes: Double drabble for primeval100 challenge 208: Getting Married
“Becks, is something wrong? You’re acting weird.”
Becker’s fingers touched the tiny velvet box in his pocket and felt a flutter of nerves. What if he made a total fool of himself? What if the answer was no? It wouldn’t be, though. He really hoped it wouldn’t.
“Nothing’s wrong. Nothing bad, anyway,” he began nervously. “I need to say something. You and I, we’ve been together for a while now, and I love you. I love having you in my life.”
Becker took the box from his pocket, opening it as he dropped to one knee.
“Will you marry me?”
Matt stared at him, mouth opening but the words just didn’t come out. The mission, a little voice inside his head kept repeating. What about the mission?
At present, however, that wasn’t even a fraction as important to him as the look of sadness on Becker’s face the longer he didn’t say anything. Becker meant so much to him, but he wasn’t sure if he’d ever said it outright.
Reaching down he cupped his palm to Becker’s cheek, to stop the man from turning away, thinking he’d been rejected.
“I love you too,” he said, smiling. “My answer is yes.”
