Loyalties

Connor sat in the back of the car, listening to Philip. Why oh why did he get into it in the first place? He couldn’t believe that the man had turned on them, couldn’t believe that he had been so gullible as to get involved in the other man’s personal agenda.

“I can see that you have doubts, Connor,” Philip was saying, “but it’s time to decide where your loyalties lie.”

As the car paused at a traffic light, Connor turned to Philip.

“I already have,” he said, shoving the door open and bolting, back to his team, his friends.
