Drabble: Not forgotten

Fandom   - Primeval
Rating      - U/none
Summary - For primeval100 challenge 167: Disappointment.

Not forgotten

They hadn’t said anything, not one of them. They didn’t even get him a card. He knew why, of course. To them he was just the boss, not one of the team.

Feeling sorry for himself, Lester drove home. He’d have a glass of wine, get an early night. Who needed to celebrate anyway?

Connor was waiting in the kitchen, smiling.

“I made dinner.”

Lester stared, speechless. The food looked delicious and there was a decorated cake in the middle of the table with candles on it.

“I didn’t forget,” Connor said, holding out a wrapped parcel. “Happy Birthday, James.”
