Saving Captain Becker
Connor’s hands were shaking.
“Let him go, or I’ll shoot.”
Their attacker laughed, using Becker as a human shield, a knife pressed to his throat. The wound on Becker’s side was bleeding heavily, Becker’s skin pale, his eyes half closed. Connor knew he had to do something.
So, he’d grabbed Becker’s fallen gun.
“No you won’t, kid.”
But the man underestimated what Becker meant to him. He remembered Becker’s lessons: If it’s you or them, you shoot to kill.
Connor did just that.
Stepping over their fallen assailant, he hurried to Becker’s side, grabbing his mobile.
“I need an ambulance…”
