Notes: From the primeval_denial: challenge:teamfest Ethan Dobrowski drabble tree. These have all been posted there but, as I like to keep everything together, I’m collecting them all up into one post.
Ethan lay next to Matt, staring up at the ceiling, unable to stop his thoughts for long enough to sleep. This didn’t seem right; he knew what he’d done in the past and, while it had seemed valid at the time, he was aware of what the others thought of him. Everyone looked at him as they would a vicious dog, all ready to run if they saw the slightest sign that it was about to attack. Everyone except Matt.
Sooner or later, though, Matt would decide that he was too damaged, unable to fit back in, and he’d leave.
Title: No need to say the words
“I told you, I’m not going to leave,” Matt told him. “I love you.”
Ethan looked up at Matt, seeing the sincerity in his eyes, but the doubt was still there. How could Matt love him after everything he’d done?
He wanted to tell Matt that he loved him too, that he was the first person he’d felt this close to in years, but each time he tried the words wouldn’t come out. He’d learned a long time ago not to get attached to people and that was a hard habit to break.
Matt smiled. “It’s okay; I already know.”
Pairing/s: Ethan/oc (dub-con) and set in Ethan’s past, during his time through the anomalies.
Ethan followed the man into the dark alley between the buildings, wondering if he could really go through with this. He had to; he needed the money being offered. He hadn’t eaten in days and so it was this or starve.
The man’s fingers dug into his hips hard enough to leave marks as he fucked him roughly. Ethan didn’t make a sound, didn’t cry out when it hurt, just let the man get on with it. When it was over, Ethan pulled his trousers up and looked at the notes in his hand. At least now he could eat.
