Notes: From the primeval_denial: challenge:teamfest Stephen Hart drabble tree. These have all been posted there but, as I like to keep everything together, I’m collecting them all up into one post.
Stephen turned his face to Nick’s, a smile lighting it as Nick paused to kiss him before going to his desk. He hurried around the office, collecting his notes before rushing out again to his lecture, but Stephen stopped him, pulling him in for one more kiss.
Those memories, just throwaway moments, were all he had left now. They sprang to mind at random times, some making him smile, others drowning him in sorrow.
Straightening his collar, Nick shuffled the notes in his hands, ready to stand up in front of their friends and say his final goodbye to Stephen.
Title: Not alone
Words/prompt: he wasn’t alone
Stephen awoke to the sound of a machine beeping softly, the smell of antiseptic. He hurt everywhere, a burning pain that brought the memory of that room, of the reason he was in the hospital, and he knew that if not for the drugs being fed through the needle in his arm, the pain would be so much worse.
When he opened his eyes, he was surprised to see that he wasn’t alone. After all he’d done, he’d expected to be.
“Nick?” It came out as a whisper.
Nick was at his side immediately. “I’m here. Go back to sleep.”
Title: Helping hands
Stephen had been standing in the communal shower for a couple of minutes when he felt warm hands slide across his shoulders, sliding lower and curling around his biceps. Looking back over his shoulders, he smiled.
“You know, anyone could walk in here and see us.”
Connor blushed and glanced back at the door as though he hadn’t thought of that. “Should I go?”
Turning around, he took Connor’s hand and pulled him under the shower spray, into his arms.
“If you go, who’ll wash my back for me?” Stephen teased, sliding his arms around Connor to grope his arse.
