The odd one out
Lester stood at the window in his office and watched them all, laughing and joking, and sighed. He wasn’t a dinosaur expert like Connor, or a skilled tracker like Stephen. He didn’t have Abby’s knowledge of reptiles, or Cutter’s lifetime of studying evolutionary zoology to fall back on. Even Ryan and his men had their own space in the team, protecting them against whatever might come through the anomalies. They all had a place, a purpose, but what did he have? Sarcasm and the ability to sign their payslips.
He was always going to be the odd one out here.
