Toys

Lester walked up to the counter where a young man in baggy jeans and a Superman t-shirt stood reading a comic book. He felt ridiculous for shopping in a toy store- no, collectibles, Connor would correct him- for his lover’s Christmas present, but when he asked, Abby insisted that this was what Connor wanted.

“I wonder if you could help me…”

Christmas morning came and Connor tore off the wrapping paper, a wide smile lighting his face as he lifted out the life-size replica of a StarFleet phaser.

“James, this is brilliant!”

Lester gave him a hug. “Happy Christmas, Connor.”
